Hello, I’m Soraya, a qualified Humanistic and Integrative Counsellor, and I have been practising for over 10 years. My approach is grounded in Humanistic (Person-Centred), allowing me to help you focus which focuses on increasing your self-awareness and learning the importance of autonomy to feel more confident and content.
As part of my working integratively, I work using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic, Solution Focused Therapy, and Neuro-linguistic Programming (NLP). In addition, I help my clients using Existential Therapy to explore their distinct questioning and understanding of the experience in and of their world. Life is the meaning you give to it, and therefore is the sum of one’s decisions.
Each client is an individual, meaning each counselling relationship is tailored to their circumstances and guided by the relational dynamics that emerge in our work. I will provide a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space to facilitate change in ways that engage your strengths and growth.
My expertise area is bereavement and attachment; however, I have worked with a range of issues including anxiety, depression, anger, abuse, life transition, identity, low self-esteem, relationship problems, workplace challenges, coping with long-term illness, career changes, addiction, domestic violence, suicide ideation, personality disorder, finding meaning and purpose of life. I believe that every human has a spiritual dimension which works in harmony with psychological wellbeing, and if the spiritual heart is sick, this will be reflected in the mind and body.
