Mental health consultation

As much as we’re about preventative measures and proactive approaches when it comes to mental health, we know that there will be times when you need support with staff who are in a crisis, and we’re ready for that. Unlike coaches, therapists are trained and qualified to deal with these crisis moments.

Our Founders

Self Space was founded in 2018 based on a growing need for accessible, contemporary mental health support. It’s (compassionately) disruptive and offers a radically different way of accessing mental health support.

Jodie Cariss and Chance Marshall have grown the start-up out of a small workshop in Shoreditch with only a few therapists, to sites across the UK, a team of over 70 qualified therapists, and a corporate partner list that includes companies like Omnicom, Huel, Selfridges, Oatley, Stella McCartney, Depop, AMVDDBO, Grey, Adam&EveDDB and loads more.

Chance Marshall

Founding Partner

Chance has dynamic experience as a therapist, manager, facilitator and writer. He is passionate about creating a vocabulary and spaces for mental health support that is accessible and destigmatising. As well as holding a client caseload, Chance leads on digital content, design brand partnerships, and heads up Self Space’s psychoeducation programme which deliveres talks, trainings and workshops to organisations on mental health and wellbeing. An interest in organisational psychology and unconscious dynamics at work has led him to work with senior leaders and employees at Google, CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably), Spotify, Stella McCartney, Depop and others.

Jodie Cariss

Beginning her career as a children’s television presenter she continued her academic training some years later to train as a therapist, teaming her therapeutic work for The Learning Trust Specialist Intervention Team with a private therapeutic practice and corporate consultancy, working with leading global creative and media agencies to develop models that promote social and cultural change. She believes her role is to support and illuminate a journey towards reaching full potential both personal and collective. Jodie consults on podcasts, radio, TV and editorial, speaking within her expertise.

Our Team

Our Therapists

Self Space therapists are grounded, therapeutically agile and deeply compassionate. Human first, therapists second — they’re on a level with their clients, not a pedestal.

They are a diverse group of experts registered with relevant governing and accrediting bodies (HCPC, BACP, UKCP, NCS), all tasked with helping you feel more yourself.

Self Space saved my life. I remember when I was walking past your first space and was invited to come in, it was the best decision I've made. Thank you so much for your incredible work.

Self Space Client

Partnering with Self Space has already been a dream. It's the perfect support for the team. The launch talk was succinct, clear and fun!

James Collier, co founder, Huel

As soon as you walk in, the space radiates "It's good to be here". I felt none of the usual discomfort of cold, impersonal waiting rooms.

Self Space Client

Self Space has truly changed the conversation around mental health, their approach is quite frankly brilliant. Having them as a resource has created openness and honesty around mental health for which we are so thankful.
