A bit about me

Hello! My name is Chrissy. I am an integrative therapist meaning that I combine different techniques depending on what you’re looking for. Our first session will give us a chance to get to know each-other, and most importantly for you to see whether you feel I am a good match for you. I believe that a strong therapeutic relationship is the foundation of effective therapy, and that self-compassion is at the root of healing.

From the start I work collaboratively with my clients, offering them a non-judgemental space and consistent empathy in order to build a trusting relationship with them. I’m fascinated by how our earliest experiences and relationships create our view of ourselves, others and the world around us. I work with my clients to develop awareness of this view and to explore and change what isn’t working for them. Ultimately I aim to facilitate my clients’ developing a loving relationship with themselves and to offer themselves more self-compassion.

I trained as an actor from 2016-2019, and love working creatively through imagery, roleplay and poetry. I incorporate a psychosocial perspective in my work, meaning that I explore how your context within society and systemic inequalities have contributed to your experience and struggles.

I have ADHD myself and I aim to empower neurodivergent individuals to honour their needs and explore their individuality, rather than suppress themselves to fit a mould. Being born and raised in the UK with Greek-Cypriot heritage, I am fascinated by how our cultural values and intersections of identity play a part in our unique experiences, and how we can challenge the values we no longer resonate with.

I qualified as a transformational coach in 2020 and worked in an eating disorders clinic as a recovery coach. I facilitated groups and mentored clients one to one on a range of topics including career, body-image, and self-care. I integrate mindfulness and creative activities into my coaching such as meditations, collaging and using imagery depending on what my client most enjoys and resonates with.

When booking, any of our in person sessions can be changed to a virtual session. Book your session first and then pop the therapist and hey@theselfspace.com an email to let them know.
