I am aware that it can feel daunting to come to counselling so I work to make sure our sessions are at a pace that you feel comfortable with. As part of my approach, I welcome you to talk about your feelings, experiences and dilemmas in a safe non-judgemental space; to be heard and hear yourself. Sessions can help you shine a light on your actions, feelings and life journey so far.
I work as an Integrative Counsellor using elements of different counselling approaches whichever suit the client. These include Attachment theory, where early emotional bonds can shape our hearts and future relationships, Psychodynamic theory, where insight into unconscious thoughts and feelings can improve emotional well being and Person Centered Counselling where the focus is on your unique experiences, personal growth and becoming your true self.
My experience has included relationships, guilt and shame, family roles, childhood trauma, grief and loss, loneliness, life direction, cultural complexities, anxiety and depression. I have worked in private practice, charities and community mental health centres.
