A bit about me

Hi! My name is Gabija (she/her). I want to share a bit about how I work to help you decide if we’d be a good match for therapy together. In our sessions, there’s no strict agenda. We’ll work together to find what feels right for you. I’m curious to understand what it’s like to be you, with all your unique experiences and perspectives. I aim for balance in our sessions, knowing when to pause and reflect and yet also being goal-oriented when needed. I use an integrative approach called relational transactional analysis. This approach helps us uncover recurring patterns in our lives and encourages mindfulness in our sessions. We might explore your past to help you understand yourself better and make more conscious choices moving forward. I also believe that our relationships play a big role in shaping who we are and how we feel. As a therapist, I see mental health as being deeply influenced by the world around us – our social, cultural, and political environments. This perspective is personal for me, as I explore my identity as a Lithuanian woman living in the UK and being in a relationship with someone from another culture. This journey allows me to empathise with the challenges of navigating cultural identities, life transitions, and relationship complexities. I specialise in complex relationships – whether it’s improving them, ending them, or dealing with relational trauma – as well as life transitions, feelings of belonging and diversity (including cultural diversity, neurodiversity and diversity in sexuality or gender), fear and anxiety (like inner chaos, uncertainty, or confidence), modern life pressures (such as burnout, social expectations). I hold an MSc in Counselling Studies and a Diploma in Transactional Analysis Counselling with an Intersectional lens. Alongside my private practice, I’ve worked for charity organizations and NHS mental health services. Before training as a counsellor, I was a teacher.
