Dear teenage you,
Your best is good enough.
Everything you need is within you. But the systems make life difficult for you. You may feel lonely in a crowded room, but you are heard, you are seen, you are safe, you are loved.
One day you will feel it too.
All the great things you see in others, and all the flaws you see you only you, other people feel like you do, and yet you see only their beauty.
If only you felt like you could speak your truth. Just one person you could share those thoughts with. They wouldn’t weigh you down. They wouldn’t create such shame for you.
I will be that one person, if only you could know, I felt it too.
I’m old now. But I was you.
Dear teenage me.
I’m sorry I didn’t love you then, but I do now.
