Affordable Therapy
at Self Space

We believe mental health support should be accessible to everyone. That’s why we’ve launched Low-Cost Therapy, designed to provide affordable and high-quality therapy on the highstreet for those who need it most.

What Is Low-Cost Therapy?

Low-Cost Therapy is provided by newly qualified trainee therapists under professional supervision. We’ve partnered with top training organisations to offer affordable therapy sessions with highly skilled trainee therapists and psychologists.

Newly qualified professionals are often among the most dedicated and empathetic people and now, you can see them in person at a reduced cost.

  • Cost: £35 per session
  • Duration: 50 minutes per session
  • Location: Available in-person only
  • Availability: This service is currently at full capacity and closed to new applications. Please check back soon or email us for updates: clinical@theselfspace.com

How It Works

To be eligible to apply for low-cost therapy, you must:

  • Not be seeing another therapist or under the care of a mental health team (this is to help ensure that we don’t double up the work for you)
  • Be able to commit to at least 6 – 8 weekly therapy sessions
  • Be able to attend in person sessions at one of our London Self Spaces
  • Be over 18 and registered with a UK GP

Penny Tierny

BACP Integrative Trainee Counsellor and Qualified CPCAB Life Coach

Let’s get together! I believe two heads can be better than one, especially when you are in a confidential, safe, and trusting space with someone who understands you. In our sessions, we can work together to explore what’s going on.

Perhaps it’s anxiety, feeling stuck in a vicious cycle, needing help to process traumatic life experiences, or struggling with bereavement and loss, relationship issues, or family dynamics. Whatever you’re going through, we can work it out together. You don’t have to face it alone.

Caitlin Zulu

Trainee Counsellor

I believe in creating a safe, collaborative process where we can work together to explore and reflect on your experiences and work towards your goals.

My approach is integrative, adapted to your unique complexities in order to provide you with somewhere you can be your authentic self. You will be greeted with warmth, compassion and the chance to feel heard.

Jake Hoffman-Brooks

Trainee Integrative Counsellor

I’m currently pursuing a BSc Hons in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy, and I’m passionate about helping people navigate their mental health journey. My approach is rooted in understanding you as a whole person—mind, body, and emotions—tailoring each session to your unique needs. I believe in creating a brave, supportive space where you can explore your true self and work through whatever challenges you’re facing.

Together, we’ll focus on practical skills that you can carry with you outside of therapy, like mindfulness techniques and breathwork, to build your resilience and mental fitness in everyday life. My goal is to help you experience lasting change, feeling more empowered and healthier as you move forward.

Are You a Trainee Therapist Looking for a Placement?

At Self Space, we’re passionate about supporting the growth of trainee therapists and are excited to welcome applications from those on BACP or UKCP accredited training courses. (If you’re with another professional body, please do reach out to us—we’d love to hear from you!).

To ensure an enriching and supportive placement experience, we ask that applicants:

  • Have completed at least one prior placement seeing clients
  • Be in their second year of training or have relevant experience in health and social wellbeing settings.

As part of our commitment to nurturing future therapists, we offer interviews for fully qualified therapists who wish to continue their journey with Self Space as freelance practitioners.
