Therapy & Coaching

Your people are holding a lot. Let's help them carry it.

Fast, flexible access to therapy and coaching that feels human from the very first session.

What Self Space offers

‘Oh no, not another helpline.’ ‘Oh look, just another awareness campaign.’ ‘Do we really need another mental health workshop? I have deadlines to meet!’ ‘ Okay, but how does an app help me? I’d rather chat to a real human.’

Traditional EAPs don’t often lead to success. Clunky, clinical, hidden behind an 0800 number and often only handed out during a crisis.

But at Self Space, we do things differently.

It’s like sitting down for a cuppa with your favourite HR manager or work bestie, but instead of just clicking a few ‘how are you feeling?’ buttons, we offer fast, flexible access to 1:1 therapy and coaching that feels like a conversation, not a clinical trial. With 40-50% engagement (compared to the usual 8% snooze-fest), our model helps people stay ahead of the curve and the pressure.

No waitlists, no hoops, just good human support when it’s actually needed.

What your people can access

1:1 therapy

Fast, flexible support with qualified therapists, available online or in person. Employees can use sessions for whatever they’re carrying: stress, anxiety, burnout, grief, relationships, identity, confidence, life transitions, work pressure or simply needing space to think.

Therapeutic coaching

Practical, forward-facing support for people navigating change, building confidence, managing pressure, setting boundaries or working towards a specific personal or professional goal. Coaching by Self Space brings structure and momentum, without losing the emotional depth we’re known for.

Specialist support

Our team covers a wide range of therapeutic approaches, modalities, languages, identities and lived experience. We support individuals, couples and families, helping people find the right kind of care for what’s really going on.

Less faff.
More support.

We make mental health support simple to launch, easy to access and properly used.

Your people can book directly, browse therapists or get matched with the right practitioner. Sessions can happen online or in one of our London spaces, with flexible availability across mornings, evenings and weekends, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

For employers, we support launch comms, employee onboarding and ongoing engagement, so the benefit doesn’t sit hidden in a portal waiting for a crisis. You’ll get clear, anonymised usage insight, while every individual session remains completely confidential.

Safe, ethical and confidential.

Every Self Space practitioner is qualified and registered with a relevant professional body, including HCPC, BACP or UKCP.

Employees are screened for risk at sign-up, with further assessment in-session where needed. Employers never receive personal session notes or individual details. What you do get is anonymised insight that helps you understand engagement, usage, and the role Self Space is playing in your wider workplace wellbeing strategy.

Why Self Space?

No lengthy assessments

From the start, employees can choose from 100+ therapists and 50+ therapy types, with expert matching support. They can even try an intro session first. Clients are screened for risk at sign-up, with further assessment in their first session if necessary.

Personalised, flexible therapy

Our therapists tailor sessions to individual needs, with no one-size-fits-all approach. Sessions are available in-person or online, with flexible timings, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.

Choice and control

Clients can directly contact their therapist and stick with them or switch anytime. We encourage regular sessions but offer the freedom to pause or dip in and out without pressure.

Ongoing support & community

Beyond therapy, clients can access mental health resources, join book clubs, and connect with others through our community initiatives.

Our spaces

We’re the world’s first on-demand mental health service on the high street. Come, take a seat, at one of our lush spaces, or stick to the comfort of your own sofa – whichever you prefer.

Humans who get humans

Therapy and coaching start with finding the right practitioner. Our team cover a range of therapeutic approaches and are all registered with HCPC, BACP, or UKCP. With expertise in over 16 languages, we’re proud to have one of the most diverse therapy teams in the UK.

FAQs

Business FAQs

Self Space is a therapist-led mental health service built for the reality of modern work. We provide organisations with 1:1 therapy, coaching, leadership development, diagnostic insight and expert workshops. Our model works across the whole company helping people stay well, lead well and perform well, long before things reach a crisis point.

We can work with your business to provide 1-to-1 therapy sessions for your people, therapist written and lead mental health workshops and talks alongside helping you to set up a general wellness strategy to implement company wide to benefit employee mental health. We’ve worked with a huge variety of companies that occupy many spaces – marketing, finance, tech & web3, fashion and hospitality – and we’ve created and executed bespoke packages for each one of them.

If you’d like a quote, we’d happily send one through. Please contact partnerships@theselfspace.com for more info. Likewise, you can use the form above!

Once you’ve partnered with us, your people accessing the service is the next step. We always kick off every partnership with a free launch talk which will signpost exactly where people need to go to get started. First, they’ll need to register using their company email, which they can do through our website. It can take up to 24 hours to link an employees account so we recommend registering right away so it’s there later if you need it. However, if you register and want to see a therapist right away email us on hey@theselfspace.com and we’ll link your account immediately. The next step is to book in for a session! Employees can head to our booking page when you’re ready to book in, remember to select the appointment type ‘Self In The City – Company Paid’. If they aren’t sure who to book with they can look on the team page or fill out the therapy match form.

The short answer is yes! We have partners who have clients spread worldwide. The slightly longer answer is that in order to work with international clients, there are a few safeguarding bits that need to be in place before the work can go ahead. If you’ve got a sales call booked in with us, we’d be happy to go over these with you. To find out more email partnerships@theselfspace.com

To support the international work, we’ve got therapists who are able to practice in the languages spoken below: English, French, Spanish, Italian, German, Dutch, Greek, Bulgarian, Farsi, Urdu, Punjabi, Hindi and Polish.

Trust is an integral part of a therapist-client relationship; therefore, all Self Space sessions will be kept confidential. However there might be certain circumstances where the therapist may have to consider breaking a client’s confidence for their own safety. This could be if there is a risk of immediate harm to the client or to another person. The therapist will explain how they work at your first Self Space session. In some situations, it might be necessary for therapists to share notes, for example if you see more than one therapist.

We currently have four physical spaces across London: Borough, Shoreditch, Soho, and King’s Cross, where therapists are available for face-to-face sessions. All our therapists also offer virtual sessions, ensuring support for those outside London or anyone who prefers online therapy from the comfort of their own home.
