My counselling approach is rooted in the belief that you are ultimately the expert in your own life, and to facilitate this, we will work as a partnership throughout your therapeutic journey. The space will be one of no judgment, empathy and with a non directive approach. The emphasis will be to work in the here and now, keeping in mind that past events can be triggered by present events. We will work at your pace, in looking at deeper issues when you feel comfortable to do so.
I have been training and working in the counselling field since 2014, and I am passionate about delivering client centred support that empowers you, as the client, to make informed decisions to help yourself move forward in life.
Part of my approach includes working with the whole person, looking at your relationship with yourself and other people. We explore your belief systems, examining self- beliefs, and whether they remain true today. Our work together can include looking at the impact of the world we live in, and how this connects to the presenting issues and beyond.
I have experience working with anxiety, stress, relationship issues, anger management, depression, self esteem, coping with grief and loss, communication problems, family problems, isolation/loneliness, life purpose, multicultural concerns, discrimination, self love, women’s issues and workplace issues
I am here to support you towards making the first brave step towards change.
When booking, any of our in person sessions can be changed to a virtual session. Book your session first and then pop the therapist and hey@theselfspace.com an email to let them know.
