A bit about me

Hello, I’m Hobie! As a Relate-trained counsellor and BACP member, I bring over 18 years of experience in relationship counselling for couples and individuals. My approach is empathetic and person-centred, creating a warm, trusting environment where I hope clients feel at ease.

I employ various methods tailored to each client’s needs, working collaboratively to navigate relationship challenges. With additional experience in family counselling and support work, I’m passionate about helping people explore, understand, and achieve the best possible outcomes in their relationships.

I help people with all sorts of issues but I really enjoy working with relational difficulties such as rebuilding relationships after an affair, dealing with the heartbreak of infertility and how it affects relationships, addressing unresolved relationship issues with a parent and generally improving poor communication that very often proves to be at the very core of most issues. I think about these in the context of how early years of trauma impact relationships later on in life. I enjoy exploring the changing dynamics of different life stages with people such as the arrival of a baby to difficulty with teenagers to becoming empty nesters and I’ve worked with people around the challenges of raising children with special needs.
