Hey, hello, hi, now then. We’re Self Space.
We’re on a mission to transform the way people think and feel about mental health. Since 2017, we’ve been making good conversations with qualified people more accessible — without long waitlists, without stigma, and without the clinical coldness that can sometimes come with the territory.
Right now, we’re in an exciting stage of our journey. We’re building out our Self Space Psychiatry Pathway — and we’re looking for someone who’s thoughtful, thinks outside-the-box, and is ready to take psychiatry and its thinking into a newer fresher model. Someone who doesn’t just want to fit into a service, but make change and co-create with us.
If you’re a Consultant Psychiatrist who brings clinical depth and fresh energy — someone who values care that’s human, accessible and stigma-free keep reading.
Our Values matter a lot to us:
- Clients First: We put clients at the centre of everything we do.
- Radical Compassion: We lead with empathy and kindness.
- Name it: We say what needs saying, even when it’s tough.
- Keep the edge: Be bold. Disrupt and challenge the norm, but with love.
- Look after you: We take care of ourselves seriously as someone we love.
- Grit: Perseverance and passion. We know what it takes to shift culture.
Our values shape how we work, how we lead, and what we desire from anyone who joins us. If this sounds like the kind of environment where you’d thrive, we’d love to meet you.
What the role looks like:
We want to co-produce this with you. But we’ll do it in stages.
Stage one will be about building the foundations. You’ll lead on mapping out what a Self Space psychiatry pathway should look like — starting with research into what’s needed in the current market, what works (and what doesn’t), and what kind of psychiatric support feels aligned with our values and model. We’ll work with you to explore formats, pricing, communication and integration with our existing therapy services. You’ll help us define what good looks like, and what makes this offering distinctly Self Space.
Stage two will be about bringing it all to life — implementing the pathway, conducting diagnostic assessments with clients, collaborating with our clinical team, and shaping how this grows over time. This is your chance to bring your own ideas, structure and personality to something that doesn’t exist yet.
In practice, the role could include:
- Providing thoughtful, clear assessments, diagnostic formulations and treatment plans
- Prescribing when needed — carefully, ethically and with the client at the centre
- Collaborating with our therapists and clinical leads on complex or nuanced cases
- Advising on business strategy, pricing models and innovation
- Shaping B2B psychiatry offerings — from corporate consultations to bespoke packages
