Grief Retreat in Ibiza

13–16 October 2025 | Nobu Hotel Ibiza Bay

A space to hold grief, without judgement or rush.

Join us for grieving, writing, moving.

We’ll create a space at the ocean’s shore in Ibiza Bay, Talamanca Bay. On sand and sea, we’ll offer participants an opportunity to process their grief personally and communally. Rooted in creative psychotherapy, continuing bonds and rituals around surf — we’ll make meaning, reach for catharsis and connect with each other.

Death and grief are the one thing written into our contract with life from the day we take our first breath. It is, at once, the weirdest and most normal thing that can happen on earth.

Not just the death of someone we love, but the retreat will make space for living losses: lost routines, lost connections, lost habits and habitats, loss of family structures, loss of assumptions that everything will be OK, lost jobs and career progression, loss of trust in our government and political systems, loss of the feelings of freedom we had before becoming a parent…

Talking about grief and death does not bring it closer. A cloak-wearing, scythe-carrying Grim Reaper does not just suddenly appear to take us off. Instead, talking about death turns our grief into something shareable and communal. It doesn’t have to be morbid; it can be cathartic and releasing.

Talking about death prepares us, reduces shock and allows us to truly and fully live.

Grief isn’t about getting over it or moving on. It’s about moving through it, moving forward, and finding a way to live a life worth living after our heart’s been broken, our world shattered, or we are left feeling hopeless about the future. Grief isn’t linear, it comes and goes, moving in waves as it flows through us, creating opportunities to release held emotions and helping us feel anchored.

What to expect

1. Make space for grief to move.

We won’t be fixing or forcing anything. This retreat offers room to feel what’s been held in: to give your grief shape, rhythm and movement. Whether you’re holding fresh loss, a living loss, or a long-buried ache, we’ll help you honour it, express it, and begin to carry it differently.

2. Connect with others who get it.

Grief can be wildly isolating, but you don’t have to do it alone. Over shared meals, gentle rituals, and time in the sea, you’ll be held in community. Not to compare losses, but to witness each other and remind ourselves we’re not the only ones trying to stitch together a new version of life.

3. Find meaning through movement, ritual and reflection.

You’ll leave not with answers, but with tools: creative ways to keep your connection to what and who has been lost, and to stay tethered to what still matters. Through writing, bodywork, and breathwork, we’ll explore how grief can transform, not just destroy, and how life, somehow, can keep going.
